James Chiew
A Singaporean-born mixed media artist based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, has over a decade of experience crafting art. Initially working as a photographer, designer, and stylist, he assimilated various techniques, which he later merged with his love for colors and perspective. Through experimentation, he developed unique compositions by layering paints and resins. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and global observations, James remains immersed in his art, addressing worldly issues from his cocoon. A pivotal moment in his career came when his 3-D portrait of Princess Beatrix was showcased at the Image of Beatrix exhibition, marking a turning point and introducing his distinctive style to the Dutch audience. Known for his mastery of colors, James combines diverse mediums like painting, drawing, printmaking, and digital art to evoke desired textures and moods. His works adorn private collections and galleries across Asia, Europe, Dubai, and the United States.
